You'll design 11 different types of instruments, including pads, plucks, drums, basses, leads, electric piano, bells, noise effects and more – all using just a few sounds you can make yourself with your voice. In the process, you'll learn about envelopes, filters, modulators, LFOs, waveforms, overtones, core concepts that will help you understand all other samplers, synths and effects.

Meet the instructor

Elliot Cole

Elliot Cole is a composer, producer and "charismatic contemporary bard" (NY Times). He teaches Music Production at Juilliard, and Ableton at The New School. He has written for and performed with Grammy winners Roomful of Teeth, Grammy nominees A Far Cry and Metropolis Ensemble, and many other ensembles, his music evoking "sparkling icicles of sound" (Rolling Stone). He is a PhD candidate in Music Composition at Princeton University, and lives in New York.
